Our Story

Northern Valleys Business & Tourism (NVBT) has its roots in the Chittering Tourist Association, which was established in 1985 to promote tourism and support visitors to the region. Over the decades, the organisation played an important role in developing and promoting some of the region's most recognised initiatives, including the Chittering Visitor Guide, the Hi Chittering tourism brand and the much-loved Chittering SpringFest.

In 2023, the Chittering Tourist Association and the Chittering Chamber of Commerce joined forces to create the Chittering Tourist and Business Association. By bringing together tourism operators, local businesses and community leaders under one organisation, the group strengthened its ability to promote the region, foster collaboration and support local enterprise.

Today, as Northern Valleys Business & Tourism, we continue that legacy while embracing a broader regional identity that reflects the connections between our communities and the shared opportunities across the region. We bring together businesses, tourism operators and communities across the Northern Valleys to champion the region, strengthen connections and showcase everything that makes it a great place to live, work and visit.

Our Mission

Our mission is to cultivate connections that inspire regional discovery, drive prosperity and empower our community.

We believe strong local businesses and thriving communities go hand in hand. By sharing knowledge, supporting one another and working collaboratively, we can create greater opportunities for businesses, residents and visitors across the Northern Valleys.

Through connection, promotion, advocacy and partnership, NVBT works to support a vibrant and resilient region while celebrating the people, places and experiences that make it unique.

Our Region

Leave the city behind and discover the Northern Valleys — a region of rolling hills, productive farmland, winding country roads and welcoming rural communities stretching from Bullsbrook through the Shires of Chittering, Gingin, Victoria Plains and Moora.

A place where agriculture and bushland weave together, the Northern Valleys is home to orchards, vineyards, olive groves, broadacre farming and some of Western Australia's most authentic country experiences. From wildflowers and nature trails to heritage towns, local produce, wineries and unique places to stay, the region offers countless opportunities to explore.

Authentically country and rich in character, the Northern Valleys is built on community, entrepreneurship and a deep connection to the land. NVBT is proud to support and promote the businesses, organisations and individuals who contribute to its success.

Our Impact

NVBT helps cultivate connections that strengthen business, tourism and community across the region.

Through networking events, business development opportunities, regional marketing initiatives and partnerships with local government and industry stakeholders, we help create connections, increase visibility and encourage collaboration across the Northern Valleys.

We also advocate on behalf of our members, ensuring local businesses and tourism operators have a voice in conversations that shape the future of the region. By working together, we can achieve outcomes that benefit individual businesses, local communities and the Northern Valleys as a whole.

Our Committee

NVBT is guided by a passionate committee of volunteers representing a diverse range of businesses, tourism operators and community organisations from across the region.

Together, they help shape the direction of the organisation, support our members and champion initiatives that contribute to the ongoing success of the Northern Valleys.
